The members of some professions are entrusted with special responsibilities by their community and customers. Among them are the people who attend to the needs of a family when a relative dies.
The community of Kealkill and its hinterland near Bantry in West Cork, Ireland, has entrusted the care of its deceased members to the Collins Family for five generations. A lot has changed during that time but one thing remains the same: The Collins Family continues its commitment to doing all it can to lighten the burden of grief for those who are saying farewell, to attending to all the funeral needs with dignity and respect, and to doing whatever is possible to help people. John and Margaret are available 24 hours-a-day, 7 days a week.
Our resources will be placed at your service. These include
- coffin or casket, (traditional, eco or modern)
- transport, (including repatriation)
- preparation of the remains,
- modern funeral home,
- arrangements with churches and clergy,
- newspaper notices, internet sites, wreaths
- burial ground or crematorium,
and any advice or assistance you may need.
J C Collins’ Bar (adjacent to the Funeral Home) is also owned and managed by John and Margaret. The Bar and Lounge are available to host gatherings for families and friends. Please let us know your preference for refreshments and we will aim to provide what you need.
